Located in the Sheepshead Bay area of Brooklyn New York, St. Edmund School is a coeducational Catholic grammar school serving students from Nursery School through 8th Grade.

Founded in 1923 by the Reverend Denis A. Maloney, St. Edmund continues its affiliation with both St. Edmund Parish and the Diocese of Brooklyn. Sister Baptista, the first Principal of St. Edmund School, led a faculty of five Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in teaching Grades One through Five. Within a few years, Grades Six through Eight were added, and the first class graduated in 1927.

The Dominican Sisters were the educational backbone of the school for over 60 years, and left behind a rich heritage and tradition of Catholic education, one which is still faithfully administered by the lay men and women of the faculty and staff, and especially by the current Principal, Ms. Mariann Solano, and the current Pastor, Father Edward Brophy.

St. Edmund Preparatory High School, founded in 1962, is located next door, and we enjoy a close, ongoing relationship. Many of our graduates go on to high school at St. Edmund Prep.
